Division InformationWe will be starting division on December 8th. We will work on the following concepts when learning division: · Division as sharing (equal groups) · Division as repeated subtraction · How division and multiplication are related Please continue to practice multiplication facts with your child nightly. Fluency in multiplication facts is key in assuring your child will be successful when dividing. |
Multiplication NewsWe have started our multiplication timed tests. Students will be working towards earning ice cream and toppings for our ice cream party at the end of the year. Students have 3 minutes to complete 50 problems during their timed tests. If they pass, they move on to the next number (0, 1, 2, 5, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12). We do daily practice in our classroom to memorize facts but it is also crucial that you practice them nightly at home.
